ABOUT ME

Meet Kyan

I grew up in Los Angeles in a small family with a big backyard where I spent a lot of time in nature. Every summer my older brother and I would travel with our grandparents who introduced us to different cultures and backgrounds. It was through these experiences that I built a deep connection to mother earth and developed an appreciation for the interconnectedness of all beings. As I got older and life became more complicated, I began to crave a deeper sense of self. I went through different phases trying to understand but nothing truly allowed me to take the space and time to look within until I found yoga.

In the beginning, my relationship with yoga was slow moving and inconsistent. As I began to spend more time on my mat, the physical and mental challenges began to offer me a new perspective free of judgement and attachment. Yoga became a tool for self-inquiry, growth, and healing. It was through my practice that I gained a sense of purpose, community and a place I began to call home.

Originally, I had no intentions of becoming a teacher, but life had other plans. After much persuading, a friend convinced me to sign up for a teacher training. I had no idea what I was getting myself into but realized quickly that it was exactly where I needed to be. The physical and mental challenges presented in the training pushed me to a whole new level of self-growth. Learning different ways to move, strengthen and heal the body became my passion and purpose.

I am a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher and am a certified Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist. In addition to teaching and practicing yoga, you can find me cooking, reading, playing in nature, or doing something artistic (my other passion)! I am so excited to help guide you as I blend my creativity with yoga to create a sacred space that is both nurturing and healing.
